The site changes every month. The security plan should too.

A construction site is not static. The entrance changes. Materials move. Temporary fencing disappears. New structures create new blind spots.

01Overview

Active sites, equipment yards and phased builds

Equipment and copper may be left exposed after workers go home. That makes construction security a moving target. Patrol, checkpoint verification, K9 coverage, access control and alarm response can be combined according to the phase and exposure of the project.

Coverage is usually built from vehicle patrol on a randomised overnight pattern, escalating to standing posts, K9 units or camera coverage where the site's value, history or layout justifies it. Contractor access control during working hours matters too — a documented record of who was on site is frequently needed later.

The distinguishing requirement is adaptability. A perimeter that made sense during groundworks is irrelevant once the structure is up, and coverage that is not revisited becomes coverage of the wrong thing.

02Challenges

Where the pressure points usually appear.

  • 01

    Overnight and weekend loss

Plant, materials, tools and copper disappear during the long unattended windows that every build has.

  • 02

    Large, unlit, open perimeters

Site boundaries are approachable from multiple directions and cannot be covered from a single post.

  • 03

    Contractor and delivery traffic

High volumes of legitimate access during working hours make unauthorised presence easy to miss.

  • 04

    A site that keeps changing

Each construction phase moves the access points, the storage locations and the exposure with it.

03Our approach

What we put in place here.

  • Randomised overnight and weekend vehicle patrol with checkpoint verification
  • K9 patrol units where open ground and loss history justify them
  • Standing posts during high-value delivery and storage phases
  • Contractor access control and documented site attendance
  • Temporary camera coverage repositioned as the build progresses
  • Alarm verified response and 24-hour dispatch
